We are beyond thrilled to have participated for the first time in the Architecture Biennale of Kosovo 2024, organized by the Association of Architects of Kosovo (@asoc_arkitekteve_kosoves). This debut was a milestone moment for SHAPE & SHADE™, with three projects shortlisted across diverse categories, reflecting the breadth and spirit of our work.

Celebrating Our Projects

Kamenica’s Transit OasesThird Place, Urban Design & Public Spaces
This recognition is a testament to the power of imagination and collaboration with the community. The project transforms everyday transit into a space of gathering, play, and cultural memory — showing how small towns can lead big urban ideas.

SSStudioShortlisted, Interior & Small-Scale Design
Our own studio space, designed as an intimate environment that reflects identity, innovation, and the culture of making. It is both workspace and statement — embodying the way we live and create.

BOLD ShkamShortlisted, Sustainable Design
Our first product, a modular chair inspired by the Albanian Shkam stool, celebrates tradition with a modern twist. Its sustainable approach and adaptability earned recognition in the category that defines the future of design.

A Biennale to Remember

The Architecture Biennale of Kosovo was more than an awards platform. It was a moment of gathering — of sharing visions, celebrating creativity, and exploring how architecture and design can contribute to a sustainable, inclusive future for Kosovo and beyond. Being among colleagues, peers, and friends made the experience especially meaningful.

Reflection: What We Take Home from the Biennale

This recognition across three categories reaffirms our philosophy: that design is most powerful when it connects heritage, identity, and innovation. From urban design to interiors to sustainable objects, our projects share one common thread — creating spaces and things that inspire, that belong to people, and that carry meaning.

The Biennale has given us renewed motivation to keep pushing boundaries, to continue designing with spirit, and to share Kosovo’s creativity with the world.

A heartfelt thank you to our team — @ediaalidema, @engjellkrasniiqi, @mfbembeyaz, @ibrahim.beqiri, @valerina.ademajjj, @enes_ramaxhiku, and Majlinda Shefkiu — for making this journey extraordinary.

Here’s to celebrating creativity, sustainability, and innovation!
