HEXPLAY reimagines the kindergarten as an open ecosystem where architecture, nature, and play become inseparable parts of the learning experience.
Rather than organizing education through isolated classrooms and corridors, the project creates a network of interconnected learning clusters inspired by the geometry of the hexagon—a symbol of collaboration, adaptability, and collective growth. Each space supports different ways of learning, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and social interaction.
The architecture dissolves the boundary between indoors and outdoors, allowing classrooms to extend into gardens, playgrounds, and shared community spaces. Natural light, movement, and exploration become active educational tools, creating an environment where children learn through experience as much as instruction.
Designed for the evolving needs of contemporary education, HEXPLAY proposes a flexible and inclusive learning landscape where every child can explore, discover, and grow within a playful architectural framework.
Developed in collaboration with SANALarc, adapting the original concept to the local context of Prishtina.
